William Shakespeare's Macbeth, E1SH

"Fair is foul, and foul is fair" in this bloody play. Let's Blog to continue with our class discussions. What are some strategies you are using to handle the Elizabethan English? Which lines are your favorites and why? How does Shakespeare explore the theme that things are not always as they appear to be in this play? How does this theme relate to the art we studied at the MoMA?

O,never
shall sun that morrow see!
your face,my thane is as a book where men
may read strange matters. To beguile the time,
look like the time; bear welcome in your eyes,
your hand, your tounge;look like the innocent
flower,
but be the seerpent under't. He that's coming
must be provided for;and you shall put
this night's great business into my dispatch,..............

Wow Right?????
I Think Its Pretty Deep. How Lady Macbeth Is Saying This To Macbeth That King Duncan Is Not Going To Live To See 2Marrow. Lady Macbeth Tells Him He Has To Act Normal(Inoccent Flower) But Also Be Sneaky (serpent under't).And To Leave Everything To Her. =0

My favorite line so far in Macbeth would probably be
"False face must hide what the false heart doth know"
1:7:95

I love this line because it means that like Macbeth has to hide his inner emotions towards the murder of King Duncan/ Duncan himself. I also love it because it just doesn't relate to Macbeth but to Real life too .

I look forward to reading further in Macbeth

I think Macbeth is very interesting! Especially the way the characters speak- I like the Old English. It sounds cool/funny to hear the actors speak on the recording.

Well I'm not to sure if I'm allowed to blog on Macbeth. But when I first started reading Macbeth last year with Ms.Russ I didn't like it. Then I kept on reading and in class we got to act out some scene's and the book turned out great.

I remember reading Act 1,scene v :

The raven himself is hoarse
That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan
Under my battlements. Come, you spirits
That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here
And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full
Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood.
Stop up the access and passage to remorse
That no compunctious visitings of nature
Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between
The effect and it! Come to my woman's breasts,
And take my milk for gall, you murd'ring ministers
Wherever in your sightless substances
You wait on nature's mischief. Come thick night,
And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell
That my keen knife see not the wound it makes
Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark
To cry “Hold, hold!”

LOTS OF SLY PEOPLE IN THIS BOOK . I REMEMBER READING THIS IN JHS . ACTING IT OUT IS THE BEST . LOTS OF ACTION IN STRAIGHT TO THE POINT . LIKE HOW IT STARTS WITH THE WITCHES PLOTING ON MACBETH.

My favorite quote from Macbeth so far comes from Lady Macbeth. I like when she says:

"O' never
Shall sun that morrow see!
Your face' my Thane, is as a book where men /May read strange matters. To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, /Your Hand, your tounge; look like the innocent flower,
But be the surpent under't..."

Lady Macbeth is coaching Macbeth throught the plot to kill King Duncan. She telling him he has to act as if nothing is going to happen and everything is normal. She is my favoirte character because she is strong and when she says something you have to respect it. Lady Macbeth is very powerful and has a great influence on Macbeth.

I believe that Macbeth holds Shakespeare's many firsts. This is because Macbeth is one of the first plays to revolve around a character that becomes evil. This is interesting because the character Macbeth is a tragic hero. We see him evolve his character throughout the whole play from becoming trustworthy to an evil tyrant.
